After return trips to Lebanon and Syria, I returned also to Jordan. Time was short by now, so I stuck to a few days in Petra (most of the following were taken there), as well as other archeological attractions I visited for the first time.
Jerash. I had left Damascus by bus early in the morning, and continued on to Bosra in the south of Syria before crossing into Jordan. By mid-afternoon I was at the ruins of Jerash (Gerasa), looking over the oval plaza toward the Temple of Artemis. As with other ancient sights I saw during this trip, the spring flowers really added to the attraction.
