WorldTravel > Christopher  > Africa > Libya, December 2010-January 2011
We had just over a week for a first visit to this huge country, so we decided to stay relatively close to Tripoli. We saw some of the sights along the coast, and also traveled south past the Western Mountains to the old caravan city of Ghadames on the edge of the Sahara. We then returned to Tripoli and east to Khums to see the huge, ruined city of Leptis Magna. There is plenty left to see for future visits, in what will with any luck be a freer land.
